  soooooo. in exactly 4 weeks from this moment...I'll be a married woman. i'm very excited about this and looking forward to a grand time in Las Vegas with the old and new family. hubby to be is currently upstairs watching tv or something of the sort. i'm relaxing down in the basement...going to go up in a few. preparing for a wedding is just odd. there are certain tasks i'm uninterested in doing, as is d. i'm not sure why we are so laid back about the whole thing. we'll just show up, i do, i do...and go celebrate. yes, i'm honestly one of those people keeping it this easy. perhaps so laid back that i plan on taking my knitting to the wedding destination. i should at least be able to knock out a few rows on the plane...if i can stay awake.

school is going along swimmingly. we are having special guest readers on monday and istep starts on tuesday. it will be a busy screwed up week...but once it is done...i'm one week closer to the big day. :)

  did you know the sheer amount of noise 20 children can make when cooped up in the room for recess???? oh my. there should be something that can be done when it is raining on the third day of school. those poor children needed to run today. thus rough day for el teach. going from lunch to recess today a boy kicked another boy, so i had to separate him and make him sit by the wall. said boy threw his lunch box against the wall. it hit with a rather impressive bang. so much so that other 60ish or so children became silent. said boy was then instructed in not so gentle terms to pick up his lunch box and do it the right way. he cried for about 5 minutes. ahhh the joys of teaching! then this afternoon during group work in social studies another boy decided to play in another students desk, as all children are wont to do. aforementioned boy breaks the ruler in this desk. again, this ruler is not his mind you. sooo long story short, we have a few more tears although these were shameful tears of knowing he did the wrong thing and the butt kicking he was going to get when he arrived home this afternoon with the letter informing his parents that he needed to replace broken rule with a new one. so today was a rather intense day. glad it's over.

d has been going to guilford every day until very late at night. we aren't seeing each other except maybe to say...did you set the alarm. it's a rather sad state of affairs. i miss him alot. so much so i teared up a bit on the phone talking with him when he told me he was off to work and i missed him again. :( but i have spent the evening addressing our save the date cards. this has made me mildy happy. now i need stamps and voila! project completed.

now i must lesson plan for next week as i have quite the full weekend. :) here's to week 2 of school. lucky for me we get next friday off!

  David and I had a blast in Disney. It was bunches of fun during the day and romatic dinners at night. The kids had an amazing experience...they got to meet characters, ride on a "pirate ship", and run wild over 4 cabins worth of land. the cast members kept asking us if we were honeymooners. soon enough...soon enough.

speaking of the wedding i want to wear blue shoes...which totally freaked out my mom. too funny. no one will see them anyway so who cares! i got a garmet bag today to carry my wedding dress.

school starts back up again next week for teachers. ugh ugh ugh. i'm excited tho. it will be nice to get back into a schedule. i am always ready to go back. i have a nice small class so i'm looking forward to that. new years new beginnings.

  the thing about being a teacher and having summers off is that you can get into a relaxed lull. next thing you know...whens the morning??? i'm always up around 8...but shouldn't i be up at 7am. it's nice thou.
d and i have made our reservations for our wedding in Las Vegas. It is going to be beautiful and lots of fun. It is going to be much nicer than anything we could possibly afford here. Not to mention about 4 thousand dollars cheaper...if not more than that!
i'm still working on getting stuff ready for the school year. I think this will be a sure help. i'm looking forward to making the year easier for myself. :)

  So as excited and utterly ready as i am to marry my sweet d...i'm stuck planning a wedding. now you may *think* this is day girls dream about from the time they are 2, but i am no such girl! this wedding planning is awful! tho d and i have the cash to plunk down on a posh fancy pants wedding, who wants to when we are planning when planning for our life together not just a day. so we have now included the thought of going away to get married and flying out the family. strangely as it is we are pretty set on getting married in las vegas. i know i know...sounds hokey and ridiculous...but honestly there are some beautiful spots that aren't expensive. who could beat it? we still plan to fly on from there to a sunny little spot in mexico to relax in grand style. by grand style i mean drinking margaritas and beers on the beach all day. :)

in other news, wilson and i have been spending a lot of time together on the front porch. he lays beside me or sometimes on me a bit. he's a heavy dog! he's all calm and sweet. d gets irritated due to the fact that wilson loves me best. :) that's what happens when you stay home all day with a dog. i get to take him out for a little ball running every day. he loves it thus transfers his love to me :) muhahaha. however, i'm just about done with this summer of snuggle with wilson. me thinks a project is in order. :) must find appropriate jobs to complete.

  David proposed last night out of the blue. It was wonderful! I was making spaghetti for dinner, softening butter in the microwave. I left that butter in the microwave for 5 minutes before I remembered it was in there! It was burnt and extrememly hot. Anyway, David gave me his mother's ring. It's too big and I have to wear it on my middle finger...which David isn't crazy about. We're going to the jewelry store to have the stones put into a new setting on Monday. what an absolutely wonderful evening. In love and happy as can be!
So he's my forever guy! I have a fiance!!!

  my sweet d is out rehabing guilford. it's a big job and he's working his tail off. it's really sweet how he's all getting things ready for us. he's dependable like sun after the rain. gotta love my d.

school is going a freakin frantic pace. i'm struggling to keep up, which is a first year thing i know. with a little luck i'll make it to spring break. :)

  so my parents have finally stopped denying my residence...which is funny. my mom comes over to visit which is kinda nice. i'm getting ready to start a second semester at school. d and i are happy happy happy.
now if i can only stop procrasinating about finishing up this paper grading...i'll be golden.

  spent all this weekend taking care of d and his party of six. nothing quite like six boys for lunch, dinner, and breakfast. ugh.

my class just recycled paper which was so fun. my room was a goopy gross mess...but it was a good time. know what is really annoying though, one of my students left early for the day. she asked if she could now make her paper. uhm NO. one time deal...you miss it...too bad for you. doesn't help that her mom is up my butt constantly. the girl is sweet enough though. i had a phone conference with another parent. it sucked, but it's over. the mom wanted to stress the importance of the fact that her child "IS NOT AN F STUDENT." To which I was required to reply...well she flunked the test, perhaps she is. of course i couldn't really say that. dreams and wishes.

i wish d would come home. what the heck is he still doing at work yo?

  quit my job at the Y. sold my car. looking forward to going to getting my classroom ready.
d is going to c's to get his house together before the wedding. i'm going to get my hair cut tomorrow. i showed d this really short hair cut...he was not happy. i was only joking so that was pretty fun. he likes my hair long. unfortunately it is so long that the curls are pulling out and it just isn't healthy. so gotta get some ends cut off. if i get like 3 inches cut off it will still be way below my shoulders...which is the required pony tail legnth. i have to have it long enough to pull back for teaching.
d and i went to my parents for the 4th. we had a really nice day. swam, stayed outside. my whole family got a crazy game of croquet?? going. d took me out...and himself at the same time. so that was sorta funny. my sister won...she was pretty funny.
my brother is coming home and we are going to an indians game. that will be really fun. can't wait to see the boys. d is excited too. also next summer my mom is paying for the whole family to go to disney world. interesting trip. d is even getting to go. that's nice. :)

  i am calling to accept a job offer today. I'll be teaching 5th grade math and social studies, and one other subject at a local school on the south east side. I'm pretty excited. Hopefully I can remember everything.

  sooooo, after one year of intensive work...I've graduated. it felt great for like one whole day. now it's finding a job and starting my summer job. awww wilson is laying here with his head on my foot. he's soo stinkin cute.

  i am blessed. one year ago i was sitting at my desk, in my cubicle thinking there had to be something more to life. now i'm living and loving life. all signs point to me graduating grad school with a 4.0 in May. I only have 6 weeks left of solo teaching and my thesis to finish up. im surrounded by 18 brilliant and unique people whoo will provide a thoughtful and exciting education for their students. i'll be celebrating one year with a man who continually amazes me daily. i love to wake up next to him and listen to him grumble that it is morning. every day i look at hiim and think how amazingly lucky i am to have him in my life. i even love this big lug of a dog sitting at my feet just waiting for me to love on him. life is made up of moments and people who make me amazed and greatful everyday.

  last night d and i had a long conversation about what schools i'll be applying to next semester. It was that we need to long term plan talk. It was a good talk. Looks like we may be living somehwere outside of Zionsville. It really looks like d and I are really in it for the long haul. it's really nice to have that person next to you. i don't know what i would do now that i have him. i am so happy.
i'm getting my windshield replaced tomorrow. and going to lunch with Jennifer. After that i need to buy a couple things. looking forward to my brother coming into town. also hoping for a good time with sunny at the pacer game on saturday. the next week i'll be devoted to d getting his wisdom teeth out. me and d on the couch until he gets all healed.
ahh well i've gotta go buy some potholders and kitchen towels.

  at work, wasting time until i can go home. i was totally committed to doing homework, but then i found a glamour mag and that wasted my time pretty successfully. today has been a day of wasted time. was supposed to work on my portfolio...instead my cohort and i chatted away and went to lunch at the broad ripple brew pub. d is away for the night, which leaves me the evening at home. sounds as if he is having a nice time. he's called me two or three times now, i'm not sure. he'll be back tomorrow, and we have plans then. seems we have plans every night...and i want to have plans every night. i'm tied up like never before. i'm partially scared of it, but i also enjoy that time.

  portfolio is finally coming together. that's a good feeling. it's due next week. pretty nervous about it. don't really want to workon it...but here i sit. blecko.
So haven't seen d this weekend. i saw him on wednesday adn thursday. so that was good. what can i say. wish this stupid race would be over. bleck.

  went to see the ballad of ricky bobby...hilarious. too funny. it was a ball. went with some people from my cohort. good times. he wears a crystal gayle t-shirt which is hilarious. there is also some mocking of applebee's.
it's race weekend. heard nascar all day today. i'll be hearing nascar for two more days. they are the loudest of the cars at the track. although indy cars are the most annoying. during the race it sounds like a bee hive. it's just this constance high pitched buzzing.
big d is awesome right? right. still doing good. this is 4 months. longest dating stint since you know who...and better. much better. oh yes indeed. who knew how nice this would turn out to be.
ohhhhh i've been drinking again. give a girl a night alone...i get toasted a bit. go figure.

  oot oot. new laptop getting shipped out on monday or so. woohoo. good thing because the el computor is starting to suxor. ja ja? i spent waaaaay to much money on it, but oh well. it will work out in the end. needed it anyway.
so went into work on friday and the mis dept was all opened up. usually it's completely locked all times because of all the equipment in there. so i ask what was up. apparently the 2nd floor bathroom had a problem and flooded their department. it had ruined one lady's office entirely. too funny. thank goodness it was pretty much cleaned up by the time i got there. i guess the stench was pretty bad. hehe. lucky for me i only work 3 hours. hehe.
soooo d went down to see the folks and that went well. he's sexy as hell and i can't stop thinking about him today. normally i would just call him up and go over...but seeing as how i left his house about 10 this morning, it's not gonna happen today.
i have school again tomorrow. going to be on some type of academic panel at an elementary school to prove pre-service teachers aren't brain washed by this book. should be interesting. i think it is my last day in that class, so that's awesome. i'm hoping to get the fall schedule. i don't have anything due next week so that is kinda creepy. rut roh! i worked ahead on some stuff over the break. didn't get everything accomplished, but did pretty good anyway.
need to return movies. americano and green street hooligans. both were good in an quiet sort of way. under the radar movies. d and i are going to rent the pirates then go see the new one. he hasn't seen the old one. ahhhh my boy d. how i love him.
